I'm still nibbling away at the films and slides dredged up from the basement. These four are 1983 Fuji slides, three from Ibiza and the last from Pippa's first trip to Canada. All K1000, 50/1.8, Nikon 9000 scans (I can't be bothered to dismount them for the X1!):

Buried in a "old town" 古镇 alley, I doubt they get a 100 people a year paying the entrance fee. The old guys manning the door were thrilled my friend and I spent half an hour wandering through.

This Pokemon craze is a bit sad

Indeed, but then again, I don't have a clue what it is about.

We are a race that is becoming affixed to our electronics, soon phones will be surgically implanted.

Thank you for the kind comment on my photo, Kevin. Btw, what kind of research did you do in China? The last photo of the pipe smoking man is particularly nice and atmospheric. Incidentally, perhaps we need, here among the filmerati, a pipe smokers' nook, akin to of the Wittertainees.

Philip, I'm a professor of modern Chinese history.  My research is on Chiang Kaishek's Nationalist regime during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-45).  Chongqing (Chungking in contemporary English sources) was the temporary capital after 1939, so many of the records for this period are still in the Chongqing Municipal Archives.  Huge, vast oceans of documents, most never seen by anyone except the people who wrote them, received them, and filed them.  The trip in 2014 was to use the Chongqing Municipal Library, however, because it has an enormous collection of printed materials (the Roosevelt Library is housed there).   It was closed (to move into a brand new building) when I did my major archival work in 2006-07.  So I had to go back.  Managed to cram in a nice jaunt to Emeishan (Mt. Emei) and Chengdu with a good friend.  Photos are from that mini-trip.

There is a local taxi firm offering a deal of £15 per hour to hunt for Pokemon, how sad is that

Hello Pete,

As per your Post #19963:

You need to add a "0" to your pile of "0"'s before your "!!".

Best Regards & 10,000 more.

By the way: # 10,000 should go to Henry.

Michael

I agree, the tip over from 999 - 1000 should be bestowed on the Doc.

Dave when I saw this picture I ask myself if it' Acros of Fuji without looking your notice.

Bingo I am right ! very soft tonality and black-grey shade :)

Thanks

Best

Henry

HI Henry,

Good eye! I love the Acros tonality in 120 size, so smooth and rich.

Thanks for looking,

Dave

I really like this one a lot Gary...I enjoy how the difference in contrast takes you from foreground out into the center scene; then to the left over the mountains and into the clouds.

Kevin first thanks for posting.

I agree with Philip this last picture is wonderful in b&w tonality, exposure

I see with only the Nokton and HP5 one of my favorite films

Good work you did in Sichouan :)

Nice series in b&w. The guy (picture 1) seems really glad to be a champion :)
