My girlfriend actually never understood why I'm still using film for photography... but she also understood that I like it a lot. One day on that trip I told her that one film camera is not enough because sometimes there is just the wrong film in the camera. I think you guys are very familiar with that problem, I don't have to explain it further here. She also tells me all the time that I should not carry a heavy bag full of camera equipment because it is not good for my back.

So, she don't understand why I still using a film camera and she don't what me to carry a lot of photography stuff, but she sees my passion for it and understood my problem so she bought that beautiful M2 as a present for me:

Thanks Gary.

Regarding the scanner, I get wonderful results with Tri-X, FP4, HP5, Rollei RPX 100 and more, as well with a number of color film....

This RPX 25, when develop, has the light part (the black in the photo) almost white. Probably the contrast is too high for the sensor of the scanner.

Massimo

Massimo,

I agree with Henry and Fotoklaus, it may well be a fixation issue. Black and white negatives should look reasonably uncoloured once developed (there are a few exceptions ...). When they are not well fixed, they attain a pink color. You could try to put your negatives into fixer again, 5 -8 minutes ( use manufacturers instructions) with regular movements. Try with a few of the negatives before you comit them all...

Wonderful as well, captures mood and place so well .... color can be as effective as b&w in conveying these concepts when in the right hands -- and yours are clearly the right hands!

Thanks a lot Steve !

Sorry Massimo I don't read your last post.

Yes first for dev. you have these times

http://pirate-photo.fr/tablesdev/index.php?type=RPX

after how much time for fixer ? 10 mns ? what fixer you use ?

Ilford ?

R

PS: 6 mns for 1:25 dilution it's correct . It remains fixative ? :)

How you shake in the fixer ?

all the time or 10 seconds every minute

My case for all films, gently turning (Paterson tank) 10 seconds

every minute and I leave 10 minutes in the Ilford fixer (for film and paper)

turning (Paterson tank).

As I said you can try another roll to see :)

Hello Doc,

I do a gently agitation (turning) of the Paterson tank for the first minute during development, then 10 sec every minute, for 6 minutes.

During fixation, only 10 sec turning every minute, for 3 minutes.

I wash the film with running water for 10 minutes, and finally I do a 2 minutes bath in the wetting agent.

I use all the chemicals from Agfa: R09 One shot, Agefix and Wac.

However, I don't think is something to do with the development, but with the scanner.

Regards,

Massimo

Massimo it looks correct for me : you fix during 3 minutes and you do like this usually for all your film

I fix 10 minutes with Ilford Fixer with turning 10 sec every minute like you

Try another roll of Rollei. As you said may be the scanner ?
