Still with XP2... this is an early experiment with handheld night photography using my Contax T2. The camera is a bit too automated, because when I select f/2.8 and use it at night, the metering says too slow and the release doesn't work. If I select f/2.8 and flash, then with ISO 400 XP2 it will fire at exactly 1/30 which is handholdable, but then the flash scares the wildlife. After this shot, a bunch of people turned their heads in my direction... Ooer.

I now have the internal flash bulb taped over with duct tape which hides 99% of the flash. The camera doesn't know that, and lets me shoot at f/2.8 and 1/30 without further ado. The things we do for our art...

Adam, the bridge is the one that goes to the Marriot East India Quay.

Ric

oh yes, I know....

I only cross that bridge when the Four Seasons is full ;)

Did you take any photos of the tunnel at the new Crossrails Bridge.  That is pretty cool..

Adam, are all these photographs of yours shot on 35mm film?

are you looking to turn me in???

Ha, ha.

No, not all...

I stopped detailing the (non-Leica) gear in order to focus on the film, which is of universal interest on this thread.

very cool, Chris.  Interesting infrared-looking rendition.

Are you framing with only the external VF or do you also use a ground glass + prism finder?  Absolutely nothing wrong with your framing; but it took me a while to figure out that the GG+ prism finder was the only way to get precise framing results.  So I just pass this along FWIW...

Best, Adam

No, just that I've been making very high quality Ektar scans from 35mm and cannot match the resolution and details of your posts. I thought that either my scanning technique was crap or more likely...

I have to try and remember to not shoot everything at a sufficient shutter speed. I'm stuck in a rut and this looks more interesting to me.

Mate, it certainly is fun, and occasionally yer get a very interesting shot with ghosts. But for each photo that works, I end up throwing away another nine shots. So there's a large element of luck mixed with an even larger element of wastefulness.
