pauledell Posted May 30, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted May 30, 2013 Mike, Â A wonderful series showing the affection between the two cats. A sad story of the attrition of the Lion population. That leads me to be even less supportive of zoos. Â Paul

stuny Posted May 31, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted May 31, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mike - Â Wonderful shots, as usual. I'm often amused to see how the big cats share so many behaviors with house cats. Â Are they bing hunted? Is the problem also habitat encroachment? michali Posted June 9, 2013 Author Share #10 Â Posted June 9, 2013 Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated! Â Â Mike -Â Wonderful shots, as usual. I'm often amused to see how the big cats share so many behaviors with house cats. Â Are they bing hunted? Is the problem also habitat encroachment? Â Stuart- Yes sadly all of the above as well as poaching for lion body parts. For example, as tigers are now on the verge of extinction, and tiger bones and penises (which according to Chinese traditional medicine are supposed to increase sex drive) have become more difficult to acquire, lion body parts are now considered a good substitute.
