lct Posted May 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) First M240 pics with Elmar 50/2.8 v2 and UV/IR filter. Proof that expensive lenses are not requested with this camera. Don't blame the cam if you dislike colours folks, i'm the only culprit. 254 http://tinyurl.com/b77nzja 264 http://tinyurl.com/lwqu8bw 280 http://tinyurl.com/bbgtk53 292 http://tinyurl.com/koe9zlm 294 http://tinyurl.com/bz9v2rt 316 http://tinyurl.com/os63gvk 317 http://tinyurl.com/b84bv4q 343 http://tinyurl.com/bxrpojl 372 http://tinyurl.com/aw6gxp6 399 http://tinyurl.com/al434nu 417 http://tinyurl.com/a68n6zo 444 http://tinyurl.com/bzb45vf (20 MB files)

01af Posted May 21, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 21, 2013 Nice and sharp. What aperture did you set? Nice and sharp, indeed ... but terrible colours. What raw converter did you use?
lct Posted May 21, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted May 21, 2013 Thank you folks, i used C1 with my own profile. Sorry to displease Olaf i'll try to do worse next time. You'll see the apertures in the exif data of the files. Not always accurate but not far.
IWC Doppel Posted May 21, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 21, 2013 Sorry to be negative but they look distinctly digital to me The image 316 looks to me a little artificial, remarkably sharp, but for me not real, blow up the image 1:1 and look at the Donna make up and Coke can behind, I hope that can is a cardboard cut out They remind me a bit of the HD video footage of flowers and summer scenes shown to 'show off' new panasonic TV's in showrooms. I'll get my coat....

Ecar Posted May 22, 2013 Share #11 Posted May 22, 2013 They look sharp and clear to me. May I ask why you used a UV/IR filter?
lct Posted May 22, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted May 22, 2013 Thanks the M8.2 is still my main camera for color so i wanted to see if i can keep the filters on when i use the lenses on the M240. No problem so far.
63strat Posted May 22, 2013 Share #13 Posted May 22, 2013 Sorry to be negative but they look distinctly digital to me The image 316 looks to me a little artificial, remarkably sharp, but for me not real, blow up the image 1:1 and look at the Donna make up and Coke can behind, I hope that can is a cardboard cut out They remind me a bit of the HD video footage of flowers and summer scenes shown to 'show off' new panasonic TV's in showrooms. I'll get my coat.... I agree...something very clinical due to the hyper-sharpness of the images. Or maybe that's just me after going to an MP with less sharpness than my M9. After looking at film for the last month, digital looks overly sharp to me sometimes. On the other hand, these images are staggeringly sharp! Good work for sure. countrad Posted May 22, 2013 Share #14 Posted May 22, 2013 are you able to collapse the lens into the M8 without damaging the sensor? Does anyone know if you can do the same with an M9 or M?
lct Posted May 22, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted May 22, 2013 My sample below (# 11824) collapses freely into the body but i don't know how close the shutter blades may stand from the bottom of the lens tube and i would not take the risk to trigger the shutter in collapsed position so i keep the lens extended or i would take at least this precaution: Welcome, dear visitor!
