....There is a way for the camera to tell the user which part of the image is in Focus and this is called "focus peaking", where there is a red outline

 

This thread is about focus confirmation by giving the user a visual signal in the optical viewfinder when focus has been archived. Focus peaking and the red outline are visible on the display and through the electronic view finder only.

Yes indeed, but you said it in a way that the camera in total isnt capable of telling the user what is in focus. The camera is capable of telling this via the LCD screen and I would guess via EVF, but not the OVF indeed... yet :D
