Advertisement Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Hi dan_drabek, Take a look here Going in Circles. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 23, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2006 DD - My favorite part is the adult with the drink looking up as though looped. Where have youu been? I miss you view of the world.
dan_drabek Posted July 23, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted July 23, 2006 Thanks Stuart, I don't post images too much any more because most of my shots these days are taken with non-Leica equipment. But I still try to get out the D1 on occasion. DD
mgcd Posted July 23, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2006 DD - That's a cool shot! I really like the expression of the man in the middle, and the fact that you chose to capture the tilt in order to express movement. And I agree with Stuart...
abrewer Posted July 23, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 23, 2006 Hi Dan! Agree with Stuart, and Conrad, on both counts...wish you had more time to spend with us here. That little D1 turns out sterling B&W images. Thanks for sharing. Allan
rainer_p Posted July 23, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 23, 2006 ....yeah, the expression of the man is priceless....great shot
dan_drabek Posted July 23, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted July 23, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you for the comments. Here is another D1 shot taken a few minutes after the other one. Just desaturated a bit in Photoshop. DD
mgcd Posted July 23, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 23, 2006 Now that's funny!
fotografr Posted July 24, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 24, 2006 That last shot really is funny. The little girl watching all the grown-ups who have left no room on the merry-go-round for her. About posting non-Leica images--there seem to be quite a few people doing that here. I've seen nothing in the rules on this site to prohibit it, but a number of Hassy photos have been posted, along with Pentax, Olympus and Canon. I'm one of those who would like to see more of your work.
dan_drabek Posted July 24, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted July 24, 2006 Thanks again Conrad. Brent, I appreciate the sentiments. I assumed that the ground rules were the same on this forum as they were on the old one, concerning Leica cameras and bodies only--though, your're right, I don't see it listed in any forum rules. I have seen a few shots posted by other makes of cameras, but I would feel a little guilty posting a bunch of Nikon images on a Leica User forum. Maybe an occasional image if I just can't resist. Thanks again. DD

DD Sorry to burst the "equipment" bubble here guys but Andreas did, in fact, list the forum rules, albeit in German, and it is specifically mentioned that only images made with Leica cameras and lenses can be posted on the Forum. http://www.leica-camera-user.com/ankuendigungen/1198-regeln-im-leica-forum.html#post9146
fotografr Posted July 24, 2006 Share #12 Posted July 24, 2006 Thanks for clearing that up, Conrad. It would be nice to see the rules posted in English. Ich nicht sprech Deutsch.
martinop Posted July 24, 2006 Share #13 Posted July 24, 2006 Like expressions on the people and the mood / atmosphere seen in this shot.
dan_drabek Posted July 24, 2006 Author Share #14 Posted July 24, 2006 "only images made with Leica cameras and lenses can be posted on the Forum". And I think that's as it should be. It only makes sense that a Leica forum should display Leica images. Paul--good to hear from you again. I read your comments before I saw your name but immediately knew it was you. :-> DD
