Tourbillon81 Posted April 6, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello dear reader, This is my first post @L-Camera, and I was wondering if someone could give me some advice and help me out. I bought the D-Lux 4 a couple of years ago, so now I'm out of range of the warranty.. :-( I started to have a problem with the display, like the display would loose connection and it goes black. This started to be more and more frequent, and now my display is almost the whole time black...so I don't really see what I shoot.. :-0 I wanted to ask your advice here, especially if someone else had the same problem, before I send it in to repair.. I like to thank you in advanvce for your precious help Best regards Michele

wda Posted April 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2013 Michele, welcome to the forum. Sorry to read about your problem. I wonder if you can gain access to an EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) to try on the camera? Otherwise it looks like a repair job. If so, get an estimate to see if it is worthwhile. Tourbillon81 Posted April 6, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted April 6, 2013 Hello David, Thank you for your quick answer. Unfortunately I don't have the wievfinder, but could be a good idea...I just found this video through YouTube, where a german company explains how to change the display (they also sell it.) During the video they say it may happen that the cable relying to the display is not well engaged.. So, i'll first buy myself a ph000 screwdriver and check it out. :-) Thank you again & have a good weekend!
Lee Martin Posted April 6, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2013 I'm pretty sure the D Lux 4 won't take an EVF , it was introduced on later models . Hope you manage to get it repaired, it's a great camera.

lkribbs Posted February 11, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Folks, This is also my first post. I was hoping to get ahold of Michelle - I am having the exact same issue and would like to try to follow along to the youtube video as well. It seems I'm reading to get this repaired would cost about the same as purchasing it again used. ;( I'm so disappointed, I love my d-lux 4 in a big way. If anyone has any other troubleshooting tips or suggestions I would appreciate it so much.
