Anybody ever seen or heard of a Rodenstock-Tele-Eurynar 10cm 1:3.5 lens with a m39 mount? I can not find much information about it at all.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

I do not think the name is correct. There was a Eurynar 3.8 / 105mm by 1932, but for 6x9cm, probably a bellows camera.

What you are looking for is probably that Erinar 3.5 / 135mm by 1951, there were M42 and M39 mount and mirror box. Some will be engraved with Erinal 3.5 / 135mm.

That is very helpful. Here's my dilemma. I have this item on consignment and I have to sell it for the owner. How do I sell a lens that no one has ever heard of? What do I even set the price if I can't find any information on it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ryan, you're new here and you have not read the forum rules ;)... surely that's no problem, I tell you ..:D

When it comes to sales inquiries, or questions that are intended for subsequent sale, you violate the forum rules ..... so far nothing has happened, one so I guess it is only the lack of information on the Internet that intervention prevented. Since you said that the lens on the IIIc is in true focus, it was probably made for a Leica. If you want to sell the lens, then please be so fair and put it in the second hand market of the forum .... if you want to have only informations, no problem....;)

Jan

Sorry for the mistake. I was not trying to violate any rules, I was just trying to get more information. Thank you again for all your help and I will be more careful in the future.

That's o.k. I see the problem ... somewhere ... you want information and with the clear intention to sell it somewhere you will get no more, nobody is going to write, I am sorry

I wrote everything I know. This is a shame about the lens I would also like to know more. In this forum are many experts who have a knowledge that is not found everywhere.

Jan

Hopefully something will emerge. I also have in a call to a local expert who may be able to help. I actually called him about another rarity that I found but may ask him about this lens as well.

If you find more information about the lens be so fair and write it here.;)

Jan

I would suspect that with a similar date to the Leitz 105mm that became the Mountain Elmar this Eurynar also started out as a lens designed for larger formats, and Rodenstock found could be easily adapted into a Leica telephoto. Perhaps the 'large format' (6x9 and upwards) camera forums would have more experts on the matter, no disrespect intended to current company :)

They certainly look different, but it's not that. It is about the focal length, for which you need a viewfinder and for the Leica "mountain Elmar" the Viewfinder has a 10.5 cm frame, which can then be used also for 10cm. Your lens has no distance transmission to the camera, so it's just to focus on infinity safely.

I can see the point of the forum rules about valuation with common items, its easy enough to search the net and ebay especially to get a history of prices achieved, but with something which appears to be unknown it might be more friendly and helpful to offer some advice about how one would go about getting a valuation for such rare items.

I wasn't suggesting that anyone offers an actual valuation, that, I agree, is a recipe for disaster. But I think it would be helpful to those not familiar with the market in 'old cameras' if those who buy/sell the rarer items gave some ideas about where to start looking.
