someonenameddavid Posted March 13, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2013 Which raises the question: if 5000 subscribers pledged $2500 dollars ahead of time and $2500 upon completion, could Leitz do a run of black III F RD and make a profit... And would they??? Being black paint they wouldn't fall foul of the EU restrictions on Chromium plating. I can dream David
luigi bertolotti Posted March 13, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2013 i always thougt, that the Leicas for the Swedish army are engraved with three crowns? Yours sicerely Thomas The "Three Crown" Leicas are the IIIG (125 items ,iirc) , the IIIf aren't crowned (also some lenses have the 3 crowns, and, curiosly, are chrome, not black)

I can dream David How do Leica get around the Chrome plating restrictions you mention, with the MP, M7, M, etc.? Leica made the 0 series replica so I would say it's possible, but highly unlikely. It would be great if they would just make a few new lenses in LTM mount.
