The Perfection of the Barnacks

Which raises the question: if 5000 subscribers pledged $2500 dollars ahead of time and $2500 upon completion, could Leitz do a run of black III F RD and make a profit... And would they??? Being black paint they wouldn't fall foul of the EU restrictions on Chromium plating.

I can dream

This example of a Swedish Army IIIf to be auctioned soon at Westlicht shows the Barnack lineage in a new light, the functional layout takes on a demure and seductive hue, the virginal quality invites a silent longing gaze...

Perhaps you need to get out more......

How do Leica get around the Chrome plating restrictions you mention, with the MP, M7, M, etc.?

Leica made the 0 series replica so I would say it's possible, but highly unlikely. It would be great if they would just make a few new lenses in LTM mount.
