At first, I thought there was an error loading the first photo on my monitor. Then I realized what I was seeing. Love it! Very nice work...

@hypnosapien

Did you buy your Elpro-D from THE auction site? Was it expensive?

It looks great (not to say that the picture is nice because of it :) ).

Yes, I got it several months back for the bargain price of US$275. I had never done any macro photography before. Now I'm always looking for opportunities to use it...

KEH currently has a BGN (bargain) LC-1. Even that isn't cheap at $415.

The Panasonic LC1 that sold for $970 at Ebay this weekend must have got a record high price. It was close to mint with only 311 shutter counts, but had an old sensor. Even mint Digilux 2 don't go that high. There's also a LC1 with 186 shutter counts for $1.299 !! on Ebay now. Also that with an old sensor in it. I wonder what the seller's thinking – "Let's try and see if I can fool one these fanatic Digilux 2 and LC1 fans. They're probably willing pay anything for a mint LC1." Does anyone know how the Panasonic sensor replacement deal is now? Still free under warranty? Geir

I'm not one for pixel peeping but I am impressed with how useful iso 400 is when shooting RAW, particularly in bw, so I wanted to share this.

I didn't take this shot of the interior of the National Defence College in Stockholm for any particular artistic reason, but in order to check how the D2 handles varying light. It was shot in RAW at 400. The only thing I have done is to convert to grayscale in ACR, resize and save as jpeg.

I'm positively surprised at how well the sensor handled the different light. See the window frames in the ceiling for instance. I would have expected them to be blown out almost entirely but nope they're there. It's easy to read the TV screen, and even in the darkest part there's detail.

I've said it before but the iso 400 noise in RAW reminds of film noise and I find it really quite appealing.

One thing I'll experiment with is to under-expose by two stops and shoot 100 instead and then compare with 400.

Beautiful shot, and a very nice WB from D2.

Let me explain about our park.

The first shot is the Auditorium’s rear door in the Ibirapuera Park - S. Paulo Brazil, an Oscar Nieymar’s project.

The most interesting in this auditorium is that, in some spectacles, they open that rear door and, who pay see seated inside the auditorium, and those that do not pay can see for free, seated in the grass.
