Yes, I would say so Paul. A very natural moment in natural available light. I just wish you had included the whole of the samovar in the window. That would have added to your composition and setting. Full aperture?

Yes it was taken at full aperture. The image is not posed, she was talking at the time and not being still, and I thought this was the most engaging because of the comical expression. It is almost a characterisation. So I was not fully concentrating because the subject was moving.

Of all the fascinating threads in this whole forum, this one has got to be the most inspiring. It is just incredible. I find myself coming back to it often, randomly picking one of the 70+ pages and just getting swept away by the talent and image quality on display here.

The three photos on this page are great. They all have a film-like quality which I like a lot. Carlos's portrait has a beautiful blurred background that works really well. And the light in Paul's photo is just lovely.

I really need to get my hands on a D2 very soon!

I'm happy to report that I have ordered a D2 which will be delivered in the next few days. Looking forward very much to receive it!

I've read threads here regarding which SD card to get but I'm still not entirely clear on what I should buy.

The Wiki says the following about the SD cards:

Storage - Secure Digital and MultiMedia-Card, limited to 2 GB (use Kingston 50x for 6 sec. RAW download).

I'm not sure I can find Kingston 50x in the shops. What does this correspond to in other brands - for instance SanDisk which I can readily find?

cheers

philip

I have put any SD cards I could find into the D2 and have not ever encountered any problems whatsoever. Make sure it's an SD card (max 2GB) and not a larger one. Even the micro ones will work fine with their adapters.

Enjoy your D2. It's great fun and a marvel.

Thank you, Pete.

This D2 shot is from a recent walk in POTSDAM, Glienicker Park. Originally taken for

>>April-figures<<, but then I thought: Not good enough.

Best regards

Nice work, Georg.

Here are some more pictures from the island of Jersey. A new granite wall at the wonderful Durrell Wildlife Park ; and painted glass in a seaside hut.

Alles Gute to all
