I love this thread because every now and then it kicks me in the backside to put down other cameras and take the humble D2 out shooting and each time I remember how much I enjoy shooting with it and the results that it produces straight out of the camera.

Thanks for posting your shots, Jmooney. Any chance of seeing the colour shot of the bridge?

Pete.

Thanks Pete....sorry but I shot the bridge images in B&W mode so I don't have a color version of it.

It's subtle, but I notice it. Color and accuracy are excellent (forget the macbeth chart), and the way the grain looks reminds me of slate rock or fine art matte photo paper. Some recent additions made with the D2:

Also, I really like the skin tones (my daughter).

Jim don't forget that if you set the camera to shoot raw and select BW, you will be able to view in BW and still have the full colour file. The best of both worlds!

Oh, I'm well aware you can do that, but one of the reasons I was drawn to the D2 was the quality of the OOC JPEGs. I loathe post processing with all my being for the most part so I doubt this camera will ever be set to RAW :D

I think the D2 has done a good job on this fellah, especially as its such a small part of the image. The leaf is very natural looking and I really like the blobs of water.

If anyone knows what species this is, I'd be very grateful. I don't even know if it's a moth or a butterfly

Nice photo Newbee! What kind of car is that?

Its a 1970 porsche 914 ,it is "not a real porsche" because of vw and porsche made it together, just like leica and panasonic and the D2.

it is a perfect combo, the 914 drives like and are a real porsche, just like the D2 handles and take pictures like a real leica. i love it:)

Hello,

I received my two marvels today: 1 Digilux 2 and 1 LC 1 (they are as new !)

Both in their box of origin with all their accessories.

Two small jewels !...:)

Shoot a few identical subject with each camera and tell us whether you can tell the difference in quality.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's been probably over a year I last used my LC1. We just went for a short road trip to Terra Nova National PArk in Newfoundland and I didn't feel like lugging cameras because with kids around that's just an exercise in frustration. Instead, I picked up the LC1. I forgot how much fun that camera is. Here are a few snaps:
