This lily has been waiting to pop for well over a week. Not much sun in Dublin these days!

Lovely sunny afternoon in Delft - NL yesterday. Walking and shooting around with the D2, always a conversation magnet as well... funny how many people approach you and tell you about their Leica photo history.

I took this photographs in an abandoned stone quarry where my grandfather and one of my uncles worked a long time ago. Now, most of the traces are lost or covered by grass...

Remnants of the railing...

Metal parts in the forrest around the quarry...

The dynamite was stored here....

Nobody will come for this lump of rock any more...

Forgot one last image! During the many years of being closed down, the deep hole of the quarry became filled with nice clear water and is now a paradise for skin divers. :)

What a fine historical industrial documentary series which capture the atmosphere and detail so well. The series also illustrates how versatile and competent the D2 and skilled owner can be. (One is not complete without the other one!)

Thank you! :)

Here another image. These stairs were used by the women and girls of the village who brought the lunch to their husbands, fathers and brothers.

Finally found a D2 for a price I thought was fair. Already owned the Panasonic LC1, but I wanted the Leica, so I sold my LC1(s) a bit ago. I prefer the even more simple layout of the Leica overall- the look (I admit), and the slightly different processing of the Jpegs. Also, I missed the LC1 way too much. This one is staying.

I have a different mood when photographing with these cameras that tends to give me an advantage when composing images. Call me crazy, buy I have a higher percentage of "excellent" photographs when using this camera (or LC1).

Something to be said for simplicity. And the design gets me in the mood for photography on those tough days when you need that extra motivation (not often for me).

I can attest to the special quality of the images.

Cheers!

I certainly will Pete and thank you for the welcome.

I have a quite a few that I like from my LC1 but no need to post those here. I'd like to build up a small portfolio using the D2. Good to find this forum here, lots of info, great looking presence, wonderful photography.

Hello,

I am happy to come finally among you.

My D-Lux 5 was a little bit alone and I finally managed to buy Digilux 2 and LC1 in very good condition to a particular salesman.

They are soon going to arrive...:)

Guy

So I got my D2 yesterday and took it for a spin this evening. The conditons were not that great. It's raining here and I had my daughter's asleep in the back seat so these were all taken handheld out of the driver's window.

I am blown away. The B&W's look like toned prints straight OOC. I have 8x10's of all these running out of the printer as we speak.

The location is Washington's Crossing State Park and there was a mist on the hill behind the sheep barn. That small structure you see on the top of the hill is Bowman's Tower. Also attached are Bridge over the Delaware Canal and Between Two Giants.

All are straight out of camera, the bridge image was straightened slightly other than that only resized.

I think I'm in love....;)
