  • 2 weeks later...

Hi folks, first post around here.

I have read the whole post, as I have done with Thorsten web, and my extract is that this toy lets you all develop your art (by tons). I am shocked.

Just got mine yesterday from ebay, In very good condition but awfully dirty... just cleaned it calmly.

Unfortunately i had a detached retina and cannot move for several weeks, but I will try to post some pictures to keep this great thread going.

Cheers to all.

Alfredo.

Alfredo, good to hear you found a Digilux 2 (even one that needed a clean!). I found one earlier this year after a very long search, in fact I'd almost given up looking. Sorry to learn about the eye problems, but once you are able to get around again I think you'll find the camera very addictive, in spite of the very dated technology. Processed with care, the results can be remarkable. I've attached an image of the Humber Bridge taken a week ago.

Regards,

Geoff

Alfredo, welcome to the forum. I wish you a speedy recovery so that you can master and enjoy your D2.

I'm ashamed that I wasn't here such a long time (almost 20 pages were new to me :D ). It's incredible to see this thread going strong. Great pictures!

I think I used x100 more this year, but D2 still goes everywhere with me in the same bag.

By the way, I'm relaunching my personal photography website (tomasg.lt) , so more images made with D2 can be viewed there :)

Have been a forum member for a while but have not really posted. I have an M3 and had an M8 for a few months, but sold it after the novelty of a digital RF wore off. I have meant to use my M3 more, but it does get a bit inconvenient to use film (I shoot mostly on my Olympus 4/3 cameras and Fuji X-10). I stumbled upon Thorsen Overgaard's site a few weeks ago and saw his great article on the Digilux 2; shortly thereafter I found other sites like John Thawley's, and this forum, and was really inspired to get the D2. Just got mine off eBay (for a great price), and started shooting over the last 2 days. Thanks to all the previous posters for keeping the passion and interest going for this wonderful camera. All shot as JPEG, ISO 200, slight PP on LR 4.4.

I took photos of the same subject with my Olympus E-PL3 and the Zuiko 45mm 1.8. The D2 definitely renders details and color/contrast transitions more smoothly and film-like than the hyper sharp image from the mu-43 senors (although the D2 shoots very sharp images as well).
