Some from a recent trip to Budapest. The LC1/D2 is a great travel camera. These are razor sharp in the original, maintain good DR for a compact, and, of course, it's a joy to have the controls easily at hand, rather than in buttons and menus.

The ripe fruit in 'Buda' really lift that image. A good graphical design as well.

And that little dog .... what an endearing capture!

Just 4 D2 photos. I have taken many more.

The distinctive look of the D2 imo, is that the images to me don't look digital.

Many recent cameras from say 2007 have a digital sheen due to the sensor (eg 1D4, D3s, M9, X1, X100).

D2 images have that analogue look (as on an Eos 1D, Nikon D1H, Fuji S2 pro, Olympus E1, Sigma SD9, SD10),

due to all these cameras almost a decade old sensors.

When that old sensor combined with that lens D2 images give imo the most distinctive look of any digital camera

(edit : apart from the Foveon on the SD9, SD10).

D2 is such a romantic camera.

Seeing the photos here i feel i should get one again.

I know if i wanted to introduce someone to be inspired by digital photography i would give them a D2 (LC1).

Beautiful BW images, happytogger. Are they straight out of the camera? After buying the D2, I have decided that I don't want any other digital camera.

Well, that's not quite correct. I have bought two D2s :-)

Thank you Geir.

They had my usual lightroom contrast, blackness, clarity.

The tree by itself had some fill light.

Best wishes.

Just scanning through some of the shots on this thread, the colour rendering reminds me of Agfachrome slide film, which I use to use a lot. It had the nice warm colours which I like (just like Agfa's B&W photographic paper for that matter). Perception of colour is pretty personal I know, but this is what always strikes me about the Digilux 2's jpegs.
