Hello Neuer

Nice composition and photo and welcome to the D2 group. I bought mine about an year ago and still love using it. If you haven't found it already, just wanted to pass on some flickr groups that might be of interest to you .....

Sanjay

Thanks a lot. I bought my D2 last year too after reading all the good reviews. Being a "vivid colours" person, I had problem getting used to the Leica colours in the beginning, but now I have decided this will be my last digital camera :-) We'll see if I can keep that promise.

Here is another BW image. This one's from the top of the Opera roof in Oslo and has this beautiful beige tint to it. The beige tint occurs sometimes. Anyone know why and when? Data: 28 mm, 100 iso, 1/1600 at f/4. Straight from the camera, no PP. I have been looking at the Flickr pages several times. Gives you a lot of inspiration.

Fantastic! I must get an Elpro. Bid on one on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, but it went too high for me. Have fun with your new toy.

It's a joy to shoot BW with the D2. The images get so smooth, but are still pin sharp.

50 mm, 1/80 at f/2.1, 100 iso, jpg straight out of the camera, no PP.

This must be the perfect job for the Digilux 2. No loud, disturbing CLONK, just quiet as a mouse. Excellent photo.

I agree. The sound volume from stage wasn't very high. Even the shutter of an Leica M would have been noticed by people sitting beside me. The Digilux 2 was in complete stealth mode.

Shots where taken with -2EV , low shutter speeds , shooting 3 sequential images as advices by Thorsten Overgaard. In almost al cases this delivered one or two useable sharp image with every sequence.

A perfect quiet camera for such an occasion. Very good capture. Although slow shutter speeds can be tricky. Did you try the sequence trick? Not only can alternatives show less camera shake but, with luck, you might get a sharper image of the animated musicians!

Don't be afraid to try higher ISO settings despite the noisier performance. Noise can be reduced in LR or Noise NInja which I use. Sometimes a sharper noisier picture is better than a blurred noise-free picture not that I consider your musicians blurred. Just a general observation. It is a question of experimentation and judgement, which you prefer.

Later; Sorry, I see you did use sequence shooting.

Regent's Park in central London yesterday - We're having an 'Indian Summer' of unseasonably fine weather.

Digilux 2 at ISO 100.

All the best to everyone
