Bill W Posted March 29, 2007 Share #21 Posted March 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My "red dot" only shows up with shots containing very bright subject matter. It appears to be just the very upper left pixel. Strange!!! I took several shots before It appeared.
Advertisement Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Hi Bill W, Take a look here M8 ~ Red dot on upper left corner of LCD. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted March 29, 2007 Share #22 Posted March 29, 2007 Hi Andreas I am really enjoying the experience so far. You know, I am not really sure what I expected. I guess I thought that I would be getting sharper images. I'm not sure if it is me, the camera or the lens (35 cron). Every once in a while I will get a semi sharp image, but not a tack sharp images I see from other people here. I had the same problem during the brief periods I had mine before the dread shutdown failures. I've used Leica M cameras for 25 years and know how to hold them, but I think there is something about the shutter release that contributes to camera shake unless you really concentrate on holding it steady and bracing your elbows against your body. Hans Roggen Posted March 29, 2007 Share #23 Posted March 29, 2007 I re-checked after my last post. My red dot only appears in info mode. Hans
henry joeng Posted September 15, 2007 Share #24 Posted September 15, 2007 I also notice that red dot on the left upper most corner of LCD today and my firmware is the latest 1.107 version As said by others already, it does not occur on each and every photos and hopefully not a dead pixel. I have read through the PDF file by leica in 4.2007, the reference pixels problem seems to be referring to a bright line on the LCD playback when picturing object with bright light, but not the red dot at left upper corner of LCD. Just send a mail to M8 Support and waiting for their reply.
