Bill Allsopp Posted February 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2013 You want a 6" x 4" print or a 6' x 4' one? Of what? Why? For whom? etc. Ask a well thought out question and I am sure someone here will provide a well thought out answer.

stump4545 Posted February 25, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted February 25, 2013 what i was trying to ask is when shooting and post processing an image for print what aspects of the photograph and post processing become less crucial considering the final output? what aspects become more important knowing the final output will be a 16x24 b&w print? sorry i know still confusing. esquire53 Posted February 25, 2013 Share #5 Posted February 25, 2013 not confusing ... print it and look at it don't worry about format and print quality, just have the print laying around to look at them to me the way to become better photographer
IWC Doppel Posted February 25, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2013 I think the easiest way to answer is to calibrate your screen and printer so they match as closely as possible then seeing what's critical on screen will be straightforward. Experimenting with papers will help your understanding too, I am new to printing (late 2102) and I prefer B&W and matt papers I can happily review on screen and set the image to how I want it to look, then hit the print key knowing the result will be right. What matters on screen matters on paper to be honest.
