k-hawinkler Posted February 18, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 18, 2013 Hank, I think the middle image tells the story best. The poor woman and her two children. They break my heart.
pauledell Posted February 18, 2013 Share #5 Posted February 18, 2013 Hank, I believe the middle picture is the most powerful version of them all. The only thing I would suggest is to crop just a sliver from the left edge so the wall is the only part shown. Great reportage of a sad and tragic condition. wilfredo Posted February 19, 2013 Share #13 Posted February 19, 2013 The disturbing world generated by extreme wealth. Poverty has a context.
Hank Taylor Posted February 19, 2013 Author Share #14 Posted February 19, 2013 Tried this this time in BW but I feel the color shot is more dramatic with the contrast between blue ,yellow and red Hank
dickgrafixstop Posted February 19, 2013 Share #15 Posted February 19, 2013 Hank, it's good to see you back on the forums. Totally agree about the color - but as an old friend once said, "if God had intended you to see in black and white, She would have given you monochrome eyes." allamande Posted February 21, 2013 Share #17 Posted February 21, 2013 Hank, This works in color and probably needs a bit more work in BW. Good documentary work; though I do see the half in poverty, I am not sure that I see ignorance in the other half. Frankly, we have no way of knowing what the passers bye you've depicted here are thinking (or their reaction) in light of the scene they are witnessing. pragmatist Posted February 21, 2013 Share #18 Posted February 21, 2013 Good photography but terrible to see in this day and age. Really feel for them.
