earleygallery Posted February 20, 2013 Share #30 Posted February 20, 2013 Anyway, back OT, does our friend realise there is a list of all official Leica dealers on their website? There are a handful of dealers within a short train ride from London if he wants to cast his net wider. Also, buy a copy of Amateur Photographer to browse ads for the many S/H dealers too. You might also be lucky to visit when there's a camera fair around town, search Google.

roydonian Posted February 21, 2013 Share #34 Posted February 21, 2013 Having visited most of these dealers a few weeks ago, I’d suggest that the largest stock of second-hand items is that at Red Dot, followed by Richard Caplan, then The Classic Camera, and R G Lewis. So my advice to Tonki-M would be to make Red Dot his first stop, then take the Northern Line and Picadilly Line to Green Park to visit Richard Caplan, then the Picadilly and Central Lines to get to Holborn, from where The Classic Camera, and R G Lewis are a short walk. bd10 Posted February 22, 2013 Share #35 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi, Classic Camera in Piet Bull Yard, just off the British Museum and RG Lewis around the corner come to mind. RG Lewis is a bit old fashioned, very knowledgeable staff. Same goes for Classic Camera. Been to both. Got my M3 from the former and lens from the latter. www.theclassiccamera.com/ www.rglewis.co.uk/ Popped by Red Dot only once, cannot voice a real opinion. dkCambridgeshire Posted February 25, 2013 Share #36 Posted February 25, 2013 I will never visit a certain London Leica dealer's premises which over a very long period plastered the header, "Where the elite meet and greet" on their magazine sales listings ... that has put me off ever going there. dunk
wattsy Posted February 25, 2013 Share #37 Posted February 25, 2013 So my advice to Tonki-M would be to make Red Dot his first stop, then take the Northern Line and Picadilly Line to Green Park to visit Richard Caplan, then the Picadilly and Central Lines to get to Holborn, from where The Classic Camera, and R G Lewis are a short walk. Sounds a bit tedious. Easier to just jump on a bus (55?) outside Red Dot and make the short journey to Holborn for RG Lewis and TCC. Then jump on another bus into the West End (such as 98) or catch Central Line Holborn to Bond Street and walk to Leica Mayfair shop and Richard Caplan. But yes, that's an awful advert.
