Black and Whites 2013 - a set on Flickr I have to admit, I am not completely happy with the results yet but I will be working on that. This was all M6/50MM Lux Tri-X @ 400 in D76 1:1 20°c / 9.5 minutes. Next film ready to develop tomorrow. Enjoying myself. Rolf

aesop Posted February 26, 2013 Share #22 Posted February 26, 2013 However the original emulsion smelled like regular Udon soup. Then it smelled more like Udon with red miso. But the current emulsion smells like Soba noodles. ...this, my friend, is absolutely mental. Literally and metaphorically.

Guest Mr. B Posted February 27, 2013 Share #24 Posted February 27, 2013 Glad to hear of others who still love to use film. I have been using Tri-X and other B/W films for over 40 years, and have never seen any reason to give it up. I do use digital, but I have never lost my love of film. I do miss APX 100 and 25 although I do still have 2 rolls of 120 and 2 rolls of 35 in the frig that I am saving for some special occasion. I have always loved working in my darkroom over these past many years. I feel that I have devoted too much time, effort, energy, money in developing my skills and talents in the darkroom using film over the years to now turn my back on my passion and embrace digital 100%. I may be foolish, but using film gives me too much pleasure to give it up. Good luck to you. Regards. Mr. B

sblitz Posted March 1, 2013 Share #28 Posted March 1, 2013 Apologies. I just assumed that all know u r means you are in the world of texting. After all I see on this forum oth akik IMHO etc. some of which I had to look up to learn. But I think the point is well taken regardless of language. If you earn a living with photography digital is really a necessity. If its for yourself you choose what makes you happy.
