Hello Jean Claude,

Actually named for Dr Leo Baekeland who came to the USofA from Belgium & made this early plastic first in Perth Amboy, New Jersey & later moving production to Bound Brook, New Jersey, both of which are also in the USofA.

Best Regards,

Michael

Right, Michael ! I was just writing an answer/rectification to Jean-Claude when I mentioned your thread. Leo Baekeland had been a professor of Chemistry at Liège University before emigrating to the US.

Happy you are, Jean-Claude ! I had both ELNY Leicameter A (LEDZH) and B (WESTO) in my Fontenelle collection (photo), but never succeeded in getting the LEDQA.
