dcoombs Posted February 2, 2013 Share #21 Posted February 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) For me it has to be the Olympus OM series. One, for the quality of the Zuiko lenses, and two, the bodies just fit right in my small hands. I still have the OM-2 and OM-4Ti bodies. Doug

fotohuis Posted February 2, 2013 Share #22 Posted February 2, 2013 Cosina Voigtländer Bessa III 667. 2 formats in one camera, great resolution RF and portable in size and weight (1000g).
stack62 Posted February 2, 2013 Share #23 Posted February 2, 2013 The Nikon F with plain non metered prism. A pure (100%) viewfinder with no meter needles or blinking lights to distract you.
LucisPictor Posted February 2, 2013 Share #24 Posted February 2, 2013 Since this thread has been started in the film forum, I leave out my other favourite digicams. My fav film cams, apart from Leica: 1. Yashica Electro 35GS (almost a Leica, really) 2. Pentax Spotmatic SPII (simply beautiful and reliable) 3. Nikon F (the original one, very basic and very good) 4. Zorki-4 (the best viewfinder of any Russian rangefinders, and exactly my age) 5. Agfa Super Silette Automatic (former Leica envy cam) 6. Kodak Retina 1a (because it folds small so nicely) 7. Beltica 35mm (dto.) 8. Franka 125 (because Iearned to take photos with it) 9. Canon EOS 500N (because it weighs next to nothing and I can use my EOS lenses on film) 10. Vivitar Super Wide & Slim (because of the extra wide lens with platic look and heavy flares) Some of my other film cams I liked I have sold again (Yashica-24, EXA 1c a.s.o.) Keith (M) Posted February 2, 2013 Share #26 Posted February 2, 2013 ...The downside with the Rollei is that no sooner have you started to use it, that someone will bumble up and start wittering on about how their uncle used to use one. I don't mind the folks who used to use one themselves but getting second-hand and usually inaccurate information, while you are trying to take photos, can be wearing. Sometimes, I now pretend I am deaf and left my hearing aid at home. Wilson Wandered around Malmesbury today with my Rolleicord Vb hung around my neck (and MP over my shoulder). The Rollei drew a number of comments from passers-by but luckily such exchanges were kept short and I could get on with my little photo-outing. myshkine Posted February 2, 2013 Share #27 Posted February 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Minolta SrT system, and Olympus OM system. The first (SrT101) being my first SLR, the second because of size, beautiful build and because the cameras still look modern today (my OM1n is still a pleasure to use). Sailronin Posted February 3, 2013 Share #28 Posted February 3, 2013 My favorite non-Leica film camera would be a Hasselblad Xpan. Super camera! Followed by HB 501cm and now a Horseman SW 612 (replacement for the Xpan I made the mistake of selling).
250swb Posted February 3, 2013 Share #29 Posted February 3, 2013 The Olympus OM system would be top of my list, but I would be cheating because I don't have one (at the moment), so will go for a Nikon F with plain prism as my favourite 35mm. But if the field is open to other formats then my Shen Hao TZ45 IIa 4x5 camera makes every photograph feel important. Steve
Nick_S Posted February 3, 2013 Share #30 Posted February 3, 2013 In 35mm: Olympus XA which I carry around in a pocket loaded with Ilford XP2 film, and Nikon F2 Titan which I don't own, but it is on my list of very desirables. In Medium format: Rollei SL66SE Nick
Jaybob Posted February 3, 2013 Share #31 Posted February 3, 2013 Nikon F5. It's simply unflappable.
Richardgb Posted February 3, 2013 Share #32 Posted February 3, 2013 6x6: Rolleiflex 3.5 Planar 35mm: Contax T (definitely not the T2!) w/ 38mm Sonnar Contax 159 + 28mm Distagon (though soft when wide-open) + 85mm Sonnar + 135mm Sonnar + 200mm Tele-tessar (the latter not my favourite - difficult to focus, but sharp when managed, and a distinctly 'cool' rendering)
Keith (M) Posted February 3, 2013 Share #33 Posted February 3, 2013 Wandered around Malmesbury today with my Rolleicord Vb hung around my neck (and MP over my shoulder). The Rollei drew a number of comments from passers-by but luckily such exchanges were kept short and I could get on with my little photo-outing. One result from yesterday that illustrates (for me) yet again why I love 6x6cm monochrome film and my Rolleicord.
brt Posted February 3, 2013 Share #34 Posted February 3, 2013 6x6 Hasselblad 205FCC for pure image quality in BW. 35mm EOS 1V - splashproof, rugged, reliable, silent, super fast and exact AF, much better finder, flash and metering than my R9. Stores EXIF data for the last 99 films. With a 24-70mm lens and a few films it fits in a small Crumpler bag. Gets the shot while the M9 owner is waiting for the camera to boot and the M6 owner (me too) is presetting his or her camera for the decisive moment. spydrxx Posted February 4, 2013 Share #37 Posted February 4, 2013 On the 35mm film side I guess I'd have to say my Contax RX with a 50mm Zeiss Planar, followed by my Nikon F, Canon T90, and Ricoh 519; in the MF arena my Ricoh Diacord.
