Ivan Muller Posted January 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) 1. Sensor dust removal system 2. Sensor based IS 3. Joystick to move af point around 4. Lens hood and filter holder ala x100 5. 1 million pixel 3,2 inch lcd 6. Exposure compensation and iso dial on top of body 7. oh yes almost forgot, faster AF Image quality and lens is fine, but the body needs more external controls to make it more user friendly. The body is too minimalist and although it looks fine the handling suffers...more a case of looks over functionality at the moment...

Steve Lane Posted January 24, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 24, 2013 Just a 50mm equivalent lens for for me
Tatlan Posted January 24, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 24, 2013 I agree, a 50mm lens would be ideal. I was quite happy with my M7/2.8 Elmar(1996) combo.
robert blu Posted January 24, 2013 Share #6 Posted January 24, 2013 IMO: 1 - sensore dust removal system 2 - An add on converter for the 36 eq. lens in order to transform it in a moderate tele, 75 mm eq. 3- faster autofocus, yes please! robert
jedi996sps Posted January 24, 2013 Share #7 Posted January 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Full Frame Sensor would be nice
Lee Martin Posted January 24, 2013 Share #8 Posted January 24, 2013 full frame sensor would be fantastic, but very inhibitive on the retail price, given the additional cost of manufacture. Adding a built in viewfinder would be excellent and I believe sway some people away from the Sony RX 1, where they are expected to hand over an additional £350/400. At this point and with a fixed lens, should it be collecting dust anyway ?? The display is currently poor at its given selling price, Lens hood please, but personally I'd have no interest re filter attachments. I don't know how many X2's Leica currently sell, or even if they can keep up with demand. As ever, if they can sell all that they make anyway, they won't care about smaller margins or sales. I like the A la carte option, so keep that . At least two years for them to think about it anyway .
Ecaton Posted January 25, 2013 Share #9 Posted January 25, 2013 Viewfinder. Fixed lens. Manual focus ring on lens. Filter thread on lens. 40mm f 2.0 distance scale on lens replace that flash with a pop up OVF with digital datal overlay (Fuji X20) AA free sensor (from Fuji?) keep the form factor and size add wide angle and short tele converters
bill Posted January 25, 2013 Share #10 Posted January 25, 2013 Full Frame Sensor would be nice Ain't gonna happen. That would cannibalise M sales. Regards, Bill
stnolan Posted January 28, 2013 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2013 Viewfinder. Fixed lens. Manual focus ring on lens. Filter thread on lens. Yes! f2 fixed lens. Hybrid built in OVF/EVF, OVF for manual a la M and EVF for AF. I'd pay an extra $1k for that combo......and weather sealed while we are at it
jedi996sps Posted January 28, 2013 Share #12 Posted January 28, 2013 Ain't gonna happen. That would cannibalise M sales. Regards, Bill Perhaps not in the immediate future. But, how long before Sony release another and Fuji or Sigma release full frame compacts? these also would eat into leica sales and will probably be the reason for a leica ff compact. HemingwayJones Posted January 28, 2013 Share #13 Posted January 28, 2013 Fixed lens, nothing collapsable. With that, a focus ring on the lens. Also with that, an optical view finder; it's fixed so that shouldn't be too difficult. Brown and silver color option. I love it the way it is, so anything else is a bonus. It's quirks and limitations, if you want to call it that, are what makes using it so satisfying, charming, and romantic. If Henri Cartier Bresson used a 35mm his entire career, I can use it for my carry-around camera. I have the Canon for the rest.

gnuyork Posted May 6, 2013 Share #20 Posted May 6, 2013 While I'm dreaming...same form factor as X1, but with a much higher res display (OLED) that is slightly larger, much faster AF, and faster overall camera functionality. No waiting for previews etc. Stiffer dials like on the X2, and a little more heft like the x2. Also do away with the auto power off. (can that already be disabled??- such a stupid feature, I actually find this more irksome than the slow autofocus). A better way to focus manually (physically) would be nice, but the current way is not too bad once I got used to it. Again a higher res display would help here. I like the existing FOV, and for once I don't care that it doesn't have a full frame sensor since it's fixed lens.
