Micro lens pounch

I have a set of these and they are fine - very good soft pouches that take up less room in the bag than the leather Leica pouches. No hesitation in recommending. However, the sizing guide on the website is useless. They have used Leica measurements without caps, filters, hoods etc. and I would suggest going up at least one size, and two if you want the pouch to close fully with drawstring.

What do you think of Micro Lens Pouch - to put the Leica lenses in the bag ?

the tissue is not dangerous for the lenses ?

I read that this was the case with neoprene

thank you

Happy New Year Erick. Where did you read that neoprene was dangerous for the lenses? I would like to read the article. Thanks. Lou

Lens wraps are a good idea. They are easy to use and in many cases one size does fit all (for Leica M lenses). They can also be used with other things that go in the camera bag, such as light meters, small flash guns etc.

On a forum they were speaking about that, some neoprene or plastic or tissue of poor quality can be dangerous for lenses

but on the forum you cannot 100% trust in what is said

Well that damns just about every man made synthetic polymer.

But neoprene is a product well known for its chemical stability and inert qualities. Which is why it can be used in direct contact with human skin, and is particularly good for use in all sorts of delicate applications. This is why Leica can sell you a neoprene case for your camera and lens.

Make a bag from worn sweat shirt or ultra swede material or old flannel shirt or flannel bed sheets.

A bag is the most simple sewing project possible. Extra wide and deep and you drop the lens in and roll it up.

Any of these are better than materials that may out gas over time and screw up the inside of lenses. Cost is zip

If you travel internationally by air, most airlines issue 'sleeping socks' which I save for wrapping lenses in to insert in non padded pockets of my Billingham.

The beauty is that ANY of my lenses will fit. Probably the truest example of "one size fits all" as there is no heel built in! ;)

I have them and use them all the time in my Billingham.

Am actually looking to buy a 2nd set since the lens collection is growing :-)

Don't buy them. Just take an international flight and you get them free! :D
