algrove Posted January 7, 2013 Share #21 Posted January 7, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) B&H Camera, New York, has posted on its website that it expects initial availability of the M-240 on Feb. 28, 2013. I will tell you how accurate that date is on March 1st. Remember they had a 50/2.0 APO certain date listed long ago too.
Advertisement Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Hi algrove, Take a look here M-240 28/2/13?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnbuckley Posted January 8, 2013 Share #22 Posted January 8, 2013 On another thread, I suggested the over/under as March 1, and I would take the under. However, over the weekend, I had to bring my Monochrom to a dealer I know and trust to have him clean the sensor. He was highly optimistic that the first Ms would show up early in February. We shall see.
algrove Posted January 8, 2013 Share #23 Posted January 8, 2013 John-I do not live close enough to your dealer to have them clean my MM sensor, but I do notice "things" starting to show up on my images, so it is time for a cleaning. Over/under. Well, I do like under. When did you put yourself on the M list? I mean date AND hour AND minutes?

Over/under. Well, I do like under. When did you put yourself on the M list? I mean date AND hour AND minutes? Lou - the honest answer is I don't remember exactly when I asked to be put on the "M10 List", but it was somewhere around November 2011, when I bought a 35mm Summliux FLE from this particular dealer. I then reaffirmed, in April 2012 -- when the May 10th event was announced -- that the dealer remembered I had asked to be put on the list long ago. This is a very honorable U.S. dealer (won't mention who, but someone from whom I had also bought an M8.2 and an M9, as well as a Noctilux and the 21 Summilux -- all this stated to make the point that we have had a long and good relationship), and I was told, yes, absolutely, you are high on our list. The person I was talking to wouldn't say how high, but I gathered I wasn't the first person on the list, but perhaps close to it. So, I was high on my dealer's list as of April 2012, with an initial request made that I be put on that list at least four or five months previously. (I learned with the M9 that if you wait until the actual announcement to be put on a dealer's list, it's too late, if you expect to get one within six months of the release. The flip side of that is I will only ever ask to be on one dealer's list -- if they make a commitment to put me on their list, I'll make a commitment to buy it only from them. I think that's only fair.) My guess/prayer is I'll get mine within the first two or three shipments when they arrive, and as you know, I am betting the first ones arrive before March 1. Cheers to you. JB

Keith (M) Posted January 11, 2013 Share #28 Posted January 11, 2013 A brief interview with Stefan Daniel reported in Theme:- Asked whether first images samples are finally available, Stefan Daniel, Leica director product management, told me: Leider noch nicht, wir sind derzeit am “letzten Schliff” der Bildeinstellungen. Ich gehe davon aus, dass dies Ende Jan / Anfang Feb soweit sein wird! Meaning: Unfortunately not yet, we’re currently putting the “final touches” to the image settings. I assume that we’re ready by the end of January / beginning February! Well then, happy waiting! Until then, let the CCD vs. CMOS speculation continue, but I’m sure there’s nothing to fear. Expect first deliveries in late February / early March. Fgcm Posted January 14, 2013 Share #29 Posted January 14, 2013 My dealer (Italy) confirmed that my M should be delivered within the end of February. At the latest during the first week of March. Nobody else had any delivery date form his dealer? Franco
FrozenInTime Posted January 17, 2013 Share #30 Posted January 17, 2013 Just a heads up for those in the US : Olympus has a rebate running until the 27th Jan on the VF-2 EVF. So if you think the M-240 will arrive in the next couple of months, perhaps now is a good time to pre order the EVFat $249 and claim $80 back. ( the Leica version is $479 )

rirakuma Posted January 18, 2013 Share #35 Posted January 18, 2013 I was at the Tokyo store today and they had a sign for the m coming in 28 march. The Japanese might have a delay for new releases compared to Germany or the US but I read that this Leica store is directly managed by the Leica company so it should be a fair indication of release date. Sorry to sidetrack but if anyone wants a Leica glove let me know and I can buy some. No deposits required but I can only get a few and I'll post em from australia after my holidays. Apparently they're only sold in the Tokyo store and it costs 6300 yen with 3 sizes. I'm not going to up charge I just want to contribute to the forum.
