spylaw4 Posted March 21, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm posting both the original colour shot and the B&W version. I like them both - what think you? Â Â Â Â Â
j. borger Posted March 21, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 21, 2007 B&W for me .... and i would give it a bit more contrast. Very fine graphical image!
kuddel Posted March 21, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Brian, for me also the B&W picture is the better one. Very good. Â Regards, Andreas
azzo Posted March 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 21, 2007 I like both Brian but if I had to chose one, i'd go for b&w. IMHO, the horizontal and diagonal shadows come out stronger. Â Azzo
arminw Posted March 21, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Well done Brian ! I like both of them ... nice framing ! If I had to choose I'd go for the colour one... Sorry for being the only one so far , but for some reason I love the warmth of the colour picture...
jmr Posted March 21, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Brian, Â colour for me too, just. As Armin says, it's a warmth thing
stuny Posted March 22, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted March 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brian - Â Now you've developed the enviable talent of being able to see like Bernardo does. Gorgeous light, details and geometry in both versions. B&W is more dramatic, but the color has an interesting peacefulness about it.
spylaw4 Posted March 22, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted March 22, 2007 Thanks you all for your kind comments. The morning sun shining through the slatted wood roof just screamed "shoot me", so as I had the camera with me at breakfast....! I found on doing the conversion to B&W that it was difficult to get much more contrast without losing the essential softness of the colour original. As it is the texture of the wood slats disappears, but I suppose that as the texture's gone anyway a bit more contrast would not go amiss.
