wlaidlaw Posted March 21, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone else noticed over-saturated greens on the JPEG's after 1.092. I attach two unaltered, other than the size, images taken this morning. It seems to be particularly in bright sunlight. The close up of the windmill was taken with a Biogon 21 with no filter. The other image was with the Biogon 35 with a B+W 486 and seems even more over saturated. Obviously I can play with these and would expect to but I don't recall this phenomenon on 1.09. peterv Posted March 21, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Wilson, Â I think I read somewehre on this forum that this is a firmwarething which will hopefully be dealt with in 1.10 Â I agree it seems to be more obvious in sunlight... lct Posted March 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Peter, not only green but also yellow look oversaturated. I don't know if it comes from AWB, IR filter or both.
wlaidlaw Posted March 21, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Wilson, try to remove the Adobe RGB (1998) profile. Â LCT, Â I just switched all my profiles last week in the M8 to Adobe RGB from the default sRGB because someone on the Forum said that the increased gamut and wider colour space on Adobe RGB gave more flexibility when editing. Is that the case? Should I live with the over-saturated greens and just correct in levels? It is a bit like taking photos in the original 10 ASA Kodachrome. lct Posted March 21, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Wilson, all i can say is removing the Adobe profile seems to correct partially the problem in your pic above. Otherwise, i prefer sRGB on my digicams, but i'm not an M8 user so take what i say with a pinch of salt.
stunsworth Posted March 21, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted March 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wilson, that is the case. But for images displayed on a web page you ought to convert to sRGB. Adobe 98 images typically look flat and desaturated when shown in a non-colour managed application such as Firefox or IE.
