IWC Doppel Posted April 20, 2013 Share #22  Posted April 20, 2013 I am currently selling a 35mm summicron ASPH, so have one again at home. I have just experimented to compare with other 35's and see no focus shift close up ( just under 1m away)  F2-f5.6, full image at f5.6 M9-P and then f2,2.8,f4,f5.6 with an old tripod I only use for things like this Welcome, dear visitor! Jeff S Posted April 20, 2013 Share #23 Â Posted April 20, 2013 Sean Reid reported that his 35 Summicron asph shifted focus at f2.8 and f4. I tested mine and it exhibited identical performance. Focus shift on fast wide lenses is not limited to those like the 35 Summilux asph, although that one gets more attention. Â However, as a practical matter, i.e., in prints, I don't have any real problem with the Summicron. Â Jeff
Xavier Forcioli Posted April 22, 2013 Share #24 Â Posted April 22, 2013 I am surprised and disappointed to see definite softness in the image center at the f 4 - 5.6 range. The image is fine away from center all the way into the corners. At larger apertures it seems OK and it is fine again at f8/QUOTE] Hi Frits, can you post a photo of that just to see? thanks!
