... At least, even the Fl. Contract number is correct... :rolleyes:Leica German Luftwaffe

Clearly Luftwaffe used this camera with lot of care... finishing is still so beautiful... :p

This one seems to me more trustable (also for I know well the dealer...) : http://www.newoldcamera.com/Scheda.aspx?Codice=LC529&Sql=+HIKNlAITN8UUbvAeTXmfwrd2l8IxoXjJFHEYQSdFn+3Y19Vs/E9i82Owe5OxgCjpvB17URNvX1y9Frg/gJmExfi/+uF8olRZklrphQCqxK553QmmdEwujexDzAlfk/Dzzn7UDvRVDxKihPX2snUs9AYAEcWH5F0GJVnLPqN1J48N9/YJ+TzCd1xa8hGqhsa

Original military cameras and lenses (from Leitz registers) in fully original exc++ or better conditions do exist but they have a very high price. Defaced or modified (updated) cameras, the vast majority in the market, worth only a fraction of them.

cheers.

JC, how come a Luftwaffe Leica comes with a French instruction booklet?:p

the one on the left was sold in Italy in 1941, the one from the left, post war was sold in France in 1947 and here is its instruction booklet.

I have Ic IIc instruction booklet in German but not for the IIIc, yet...

I have the genuine leather case for the Luftwaffen Eigemtum and it is made with (black) thicker leather than the civil one.

May be this helped for its well maintenance and if flying survival, the cameras for this use were certainly less hurted than in the Heer or Marine.

The one illustrated is a 2eme DB souvenir.

Maybe they got shot down on the first trip :p

Amazingly the brassing on the Summitar is nearly identical to the Italian one...

It looks like that the "Luftwaffen Eigentum" writing on the Summitar had been erased... as it happened in the items "war-preyed" at the end of war and sold (or, anyway, "arrived") to users in the complex times of miltary occupation.

At that time there were very close relations between Italy (Cattaneo, Genua ) and Germany. Infact the "mysterious" brochures regarding "stepper" Leica IIIC are rarely found in ... Italian.

This is the cover of the original brochure...

Not necessarily. This ad is from Oct. 19th. It could be the eBay seller is pushing it on for a quick buck.
