Pecole Posted November 11, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Rondinax daylight developing tank was offered after the war as a Leitz-Agfa product, and catalogued by Leitz as the TEOOH. Wetzlar ceased to supply developing tanks in 1955, but Leitz New-York continued to offer the Rondinax as a "Leitz" product until the early 1960s. The one in the Fontenelle collection is marked "Leitz" only, but also "Made in Germany", and probably belongs to this later batch. The nickel template for trimming the film, seen on the photos, was delivered with the tank and - as far as we know - has never been allocated a Leitz code. Welcome, dear visitor! gyoung Posted November 11, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 11, 2012 I remember trying one with Agfa on it, in the 60s, I wasn't convinced, didn't you have to draw the film out through the velvet light trap? (unless using a Leica cassette of course!) I went back to my Patterson tanks and a changing bag. Gerry

Gerry I fully agree : it was not particularly easy to use, and I went immediately back to my dark room !
spydrxx Posted November 16, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2012 I've been using one for 35 years now and think it is one of the easiest ways to develop 35mm film. (I also have one for 120 film). Due to the virtually constant agitation, it takes a little experimentation to get processing times right without too much contrast.

I've got two of these --- one marked agfa / leitz rondinax and one just marked leitz rondinax --- neither have the film trimming template --- they work well - still have original boxes and documentation with them --- may have to set one up for e6 and one for bw....
