I wouldn't have tard everybody who uses the preview lever with the same brush, but he does have a point. I can't remember when I last used the preview lever, but it could have been when I bought my first M2 in 1978. I have often thought the preview lever was kept on by Leica after the first few years of M production (that is 'M' as in M3 etc) because it helped sell extra lenses to new users, rather than it being an essential component of the camera.

as i've come to learn very quickly while getting into Leica gear over the past few months; Ken Rockwell is someone who likes to bait people with inflammatory sentences. I find his website to be tainted with bitterness and negativity. It really is unnecessary especially as he knows those are arriving to his site are Leica users and enthusiasts. I am the first person to encourage contrarian viewpoints and biting, truth-riddled statements---however KR doesn't fulfill the tactful side of this subtle art.

I, personally, do find the preview levers to be useless...but i wouldn't refer to the users of it as lame.

What's more tragic though...is that whenever i google a specific lens, the first result is often a KR review. ugh.

I would agree with the above observations. It seems that Ken has never heard that "you will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."

I am beginning to think of Ken Rockwell's website and commentary as lame (and approaching useless) - but I would not paint the people who visit his website as lame.

Sure, his negativity and commentary (or hogwash, depending on your perspective) may draw more website visits - but given the nature of his commentary I can only envision my future financial contributions to his coffers as equalling my past contributions - which stand at $0.00 USD.

This brings me to the salient question of the matter:

Why would I pay Ken for negativity and bitterness when I can get both for free by watching the evening news or the Sunday morning political roundtable shows??

KR has excelled himself in his ME "review"

What a joker

LEICA M-E Review

What is "Lame" is KR calling this a review. It is a zero effort way for him to post something he can call a review and, at the bottom, solicit for his website. Overall he can be informative and entertaining, but he mailed this one in.
