topfloor Posted October 13, 2013 Share #383 Posted October 13, 2013 Big thanks to Andi and all those who made this happen ! This years challenge was, as always, a welcome opportunity to meet the 'gang' again, to share thoughts and laughter. We are looking forward to next years challenge :-)
Bateleur Posted October 14, 2013 Share #384 Posted October 14, 2013 I think it's the jet lag, but in my mind I'm still in Wetzlar enjoying the company. Many thanks to all who made it happen and to you all for your camaraderie. Best Wishes Charles
LucisPictor Posted October 14, 2013 Share #385 Posted October 14, 2013 Blog updated... Hi, Andy. As a German I am ashamed of those "Germans" like that girl who behave the way you have seen it. I guess there are people who will never learn. It's our responsibility not to accept that and to make clear that THAT is not present-day Germany. You know that, Andy, but I always wonder what visitors think who come to Germany for the first time - and then perhaps never again. Prejudice confirmed. That makes me sad. And thus I am even happier that so many Leica fans came to Wetzlar at the weekend to see that Germany nowadays is a friendly, open and free place. Gibbo Posted October 14, 2013 Share #388 Posted October 14, 2013 Would it be asking too much for people posting pictures of those attending to add names to aid in identifying members? We didn't get to meet everyone or be properly introduced and memory is becoming a week point Many thanks, David
Matt Posted October 14, 2013 Share #389 Posted October 14, 2013 Thanks to everyone for making my first One Challenge a great one. I managed to learn something and get a little more gear envy, which isn't that difficult. Sorry I couldn't make the dinner on Saturday evening, I'm sure I missed some great discussion and more delicious German beer Particular thanks to Andy, Carl and Robert. Looking forward to seeing everyones results and next years challenge ./matt(er)
octo Posted October 14, 2013 Share #390 Posted October 14, 2013 Well, yes, almost all the Usual Suspects turned up; so sorry that Bill Palmer couldn't be with us though. Anyway, what with everybody saying they can't possibly win, I find myself becoming more optimistic:o Joking apart, it was quite impressive to meet with so many dedicated Leica lovers, and even some photographers among them! Pleasure to have shared some witty stories with erl and received some very good advice from Wilson, Carl and Steve. Until we meet again, thanks to all, Stefan and Andy, of course, and the best of luck!
andybarton Posted October 14, 2013 Author Share #391 Posted October 14, 2013 Hi, Andy. Carsten I think that the girl was probably Spanish or Italian. Regardless, she must have known where she was, what it was all about and what offence she was likely to cause. I agree that Germany is a lovely country, full of lovely people. We are now in the Bavarian Alps and everyone is so friendly and patient with us

stunsworth Posted October 15, 2013 Share #399 Posted October 15, 2013 Can I just echo all the sentiments expressed above. As ever it was a pleasure to meet familiar faces and new ones alike. I'm now in Trier and it's raining hard, drinking beer seems the best option.
