Excellent.

Will you be staying for dinner in th evening? We need to confirm numbers to the restaurant.

Thanks

Andy

As far as I know, we won't. I guess we all (Dirk, Olaf and me) are going to the Leica Historica Meeting in Staufenberg. (Well, I am for sure.)

I am really sorry I cannot join you all this year, having enjoyed the last 3 so much. I have just returned from China and Korea and need to spend October earning some money

Hope you all have a wonderful time and I am looking forward to the photos very much.

Oh, and hope you vote for Istanbul next year, dying to go...

I will join the group already on friday morning at the Leica factory for the tour, but without my Camera.

I have an appointment at CC at 9:30 to leave my M240/50LuxASPH, and they do camera sitting for the day with some special treatment (adjustment), so that it will be 100% at the challenge event!

Looking forward meeting all of you during these interesting days in Solms/Wetzlar.

Maybe, if we find an hour in between, some of you might join me in my car to have a look at the new Leica factory. I will stay in the Wetzlarer hof:D

Have a save journey!

John

Nick, sorry you won't be there this year.

Need to earn money! It will be spent/gone by the end of the week.

Join us at Wetzlar and the memory and pics will be with you for ever! ;):D

Istanbul! Don't wait for a 'Çhallenge'. Just go. It's magic.

In the face of opposing health and financial constraints, I have decided to join the 'riff raff' journeying to Wetzlar. I will arrive at Frankfurt early am on Thur 10. I am assuming I can get a local train from there to Wetzlar.

Does anyone have info on facilities to commute between Wetzlar station and the hotel area. I am sure there will be something but after 25+ hrs flight I may not think so clearly at the time. Google earth says its 1+ Km so maybe I can walk it.

BTW, I will be a contender for dinner on the Sat night and hope to fit into one of the factory tours if there is still room.

Anyone else arriving early? I can PM my mob. Ph. # to catch up.

John, after your long flight from Australia to Frankfurt I offer to pick you up from the Frankfurt airport and after that we can drive together to Wetzlar by car. I will combine this with a visit to Leica CS where I want to bring some stuff to them for maintenance.

So if you want do use this offer, send me a private mail with your arrival data.

Are there any "get together" locations for Friday evening? I shall be arriving, driving up from southern Germany, early afternoon on the Friday, staying like many others at the Mercure.

Not that I'm aware of, though something informal may be arranged during the factory visit. I'm sure if anything is decided the details will be posted on the forum - though beware, you have to pay for WiFi access at the Mercure.

Planned to spend Thursday afternoon with the Palmers and drive together to Solms on Friday. As this doesn't work out, someone else could take my place for the tour. I'm sorry about it.

I'm afraid not. I had planed the factory tour only, because my mother's over for the week-end (airport back and fro) + there is a wedding to attend.

Ferdinand is the sixt German host from the forum, if I counted right. I'm sorry the party won't be complete :(

As I won't be attending this year, may I take this opportuity of wishing you all a great weekend. Those who have not yet been on the factory tour will enjoy it immensely.

I look forward to seeing the results - good luck to you all!

Hello!

I just joined the "Shutter fault" club with my M8. Must say it is a good timing when it's only 2 days left to the trip to Wetzlar.

The shutter is quite heavily bended and is some 5 mm outside the working plane.

Seems like it's time to go back to old M6 again.

/Ted
