stuny Posted October 29, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 29, 2012 George - Beautiful, and exceptionallly valuable. I think it is a Ferrari 166MM Touring Barchetta from the late 1940s or early 1950s, and probably worth about $2,000,000.
George James Posted October 29, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted October 29, 2012 Paul, Stuart - Thanks for your kind comments. Paul - No this car isn't mine, I wish it was, it would look good up my drive Stuart - $2,000,000 "WOW".

J_Thompson Posted November 4, 2012 Share #6 Posted November 4, 2012 Beautiful car with an equally attractive background. Love the contrast between the gold and blue tones - it really makes the car pop visually. Well done.
Edward77 Posted November 21, 2012 Share #7 Posted November 21, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Try $6,000,000, this is a very early and very important car owned by a well known british collector.

George James Posted November 21, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted November 21, 2012 Bill, Thank you. Edward, if I owned a car worth that amount of money, I certainly wouldn't leave it parked in the road !
Timmyjoe Posted April 13, 2013 Share #10 Posted April 13, 2013 Beautiful picture of a gorgeous car. Is that two tone paint, blue on the top and green on the inlays, or is that just a reflection?
otto.f Posted April 13, 2013 Share #11 Posted April 13, 2013 Very nice photo of a very nice car, though I think that the exhaust has been mounted disproportionally amateuristic
Karl G Posted April 13, 2013 Share #12 Posted April 13, 2013 Fantastic picture an auto. Can't imagine the insurance payment to run it on the road.
George James Posted April 16, 2013 Author Share #13 Posted April 16, 2013 Tim, Otto and Karl - Thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated. Tim, yes the paintwork is two tone, and as you say, blue on top and green bottom half. Best George
stuny Posted April 16, 2013 Share #14 Posted April 16, 2013 Geroge - I forgot to mention that "Superleggera" means super light (if I recall properly).

George James Posted April 17, 2013 Author Share #16 Posted April 17, 2013 Stuart, My wife is studying the Italian language and has just informed me that 'leggera' is the feminine form of 'leggero' because it qualifies the word for car which in Italian is feminine. I hope she's right because a lot of Italian speakers are on this forum
mhanke Posted April 24, 2013 Share #17 Posted April 24, 2013 Very good picture of a wonderful car, appropriately placed. Normally you have to plan and pay for such a perfect setup. If I may bring forward a slightly critical comment on the picture: In my opinion, the borders left and right are a little bit too tight. I think the car needs a tad more space to "breathe". Lee Martin Posted April 24, 2013 Share #18 Posted April 24, 2013 It really is a beautiful looking car, there's no reason that they couldn't actually build cars of this shape today, but they insist on all the practicalities along with safety issues that include airbags etc. It may belong to Chris Evans who is a big Ferrari enthusiast or Mr Mason I believe it is from Pink Floyd who Is a real petrol head. Very lucky whoever it is
