Advertisement Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Hi paulja, Take a look here b-29 ??? airshow. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted October 2, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2012 A fine picture with great detail but not a B29. It probably is a Mitchell B25 bomber like the ones flown off the aircraft carrier Hornet lead by Col. Jimmy Doolittle to bomb Tokyo in WWII. cbretteville Posted October 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2012 Nice shot of what is a B-25 Mitchell. Great to see one of the old ladies flying. Carl
stuny Posted October 2, 2012 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2012 Yes, lovely, and it is a B25. The B29 came later, was much bigger, and had four engines. The B25, as well as being the a/c used by the Jimmy Doolittle Raiders is also the bomber in Joseph Heller's Catch 22.
3rdtrick Posted October 11, 2012 Share #5 Posted October 11, 2012 Paul, It is for sure a B25 called Panchito. This plane makes the tour of the airshows and I have photographed it for years. You can even fly in it if you have the extra cash. It even has a Facebook page.... B-25 "Panchito" | Facebook BTW, great job getting the plane sharp and still having the prop blur.
