Eoin Posted March 15, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) As I write this, I've just filled out my offer letter and enclosed my receipt in the envelope. I'll post it to solms in the morning. I have mussed this lens in my mind so much it's driven me crazy and the only sane solution is to try it out for my self. Congrats on your new addition and I'm sure you'll produce many stunning images with it.
trs Posted March 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted March 15, 2007 I thought I had settled down on 75 cron. But, fever has started again. My biggest reason for backing out of nocti was minimum focusing distance. Back to more thinking and drooling now after seeing the pictures from it again. scjohn Posted March 15, 2007 Share #9 Posted March 15, 2007 Iam kicking myself for not using my 30% on the nocti... Had the price increase been announced before I decided between the nocti and the 28 2.0 (choosing the 28 because I was so used to the 35 mm fov on my M7 and already have a 50 lux) the scale would have tipped in an entirely different direction. The wine shot just irks me... I think I need a drink!
boilerdoc Posted March 16, 2007 Share #10 Posted March 16, 2007 Don't forget that the 1.25X mag will help - a lot. Love mine. With the M8 you never have to worry about whether there's enough light or not anymore. Do you have the IR Filter on? Steve
Bill Sievers Posted March 16, 2007 Share #11 Posted March 16, 2007 The lense is a dream with the M8. Heres one from last night: http://www.flickr.com/photos/captainvideo/422208892/
gesper Posted March 16, 2007 Share #12 Posted March 16, 2007 How did the ship it to you (ie, FedEx? UPS? DHL? USPS?)? Also, did you have to sign for it or did they just leave it on your doorstep?
bradhusick Posted March 16, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted March 16, 2007 I believe it was UPS and they just left it at the door. These shots were taken with no filter attached. Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. -Brad

bayerische Posted March 16, 2007 Share #17 Posted March 16, 2007 You guys are tempting me... I just chose the Summilux 50mm over the Nocti, My favourite Leica shop had a used Nocti, but with the RD1 I wasn't prepared to spend that amount on a "75mm" lens. leseinne Posted March 16, 2007 Share #18 Posted March 16, 2007 very nice pictures . but as Guy mentioned very dangerous thread i still hav to spend my 30%-off but i would like to compare it with the 35 f1.2 nokton first
mitchell Posted March 16, 2007 Share #19 Posted March 16, 2007 Damn, already used my 30%... what to do.... what to do... Eureka! Buy a second M8, use the second 30% off for a Noctalux. I'm a genius! Can't afford not to. (Actually not. Maybe in a couple of years.) Best, Mitchell
JT07 Posted March 17, 2007 Share #20 Posted March 17, 2007 Congratulations Brad, she's a beauty isn't she? Just shoot it and enjoy it. As far as the weight goes, it's only heavy when compared to other M glass. If you hold it up against the top of the line prime Nikkor or Canon glass, it actually seems to weigh less. If you really want to be technical, the discount on the Noct is actually about 50% if you consider the 30% off price to the new increased price. I've had mine several years and actually used my 30% to get another one. I old ones gets sold off when the new coded one arrives. Enjoy it Brad..... You'll love it.
