Jerren Posted September 27, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a battery from a large online company that begins with an A and ends with a N. However, the battery labeling is different than what was pictured in the listing. Did Leica changed the way their factory batteries look or did I get sent a 3rd party battery? Here is what they sent me.

Jerren Posted September 27, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted September 27, 2012 Looks legitimate to me.Mine are Leica and look the same. Thats strange, the one that came with my camera (bought it 2nd hand) looks like this. So perhaps they did make a change?
UliWer Posted September 27, 2012 Share #4 Posted September 27, 2012 There are two types: The one which has no white printing was the first one for the M8, the white printed one is for the M9. There are no other differences between the two types, technicall they are identical - though I never saw one with Russian printing on them like in the original posting. If you turn it around, there should be "For Digital Leica M-Cameras Leica Camera 14464" written on it (perhaps even in Russian...)

And yes, I was a bit concerned when I saw the "non German" printing. But thanks for putting my mind at ease. I thought I may have been bait and switched. kknox55@gmail.com Posted October 25, 2012 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the same question, bought a new Leica battery today. It is the same as in the first photo. My used camera also came with one like the second photo. Guess everything is OK.
STRLUX Posted October 25, 2012 Share #8 Posted October 25, 2012 The text in Russian states that the battery was made in the People's Republic of China - but why sell batteries so marked in the West?
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted October 25, 2012 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2012 Welcome to the Forum and thx for your helpful first post, STRLUX. These batteries are sold worldwide, no need for LEICA to use different prints on them, IMO. Regards GEORG
