I've been impressed with the sharpness of my new acquisition (90 mm Summarit- Newest version). here's a 100% that show the beads of water coming off the surfboard which at first glance I thought were bits of sand on the sensor.

Yes, sharp, and a very nice image, one that Northern CA (foggy) beach goers can relate to. Is your new lens coded? Just curious...

Larry

Yes Larry. I meant like straight off the conveyor belts at Solms and onto my dealers shelf new. One of the reasons I posted is that after reading reviews of the likes of Sean Reid and dare I say it, Steve Huff (I Googled reviews of the lens and am a Reid subscriber), you would think this thing is close to a disaster. The price is very economical IMHO, given the price of Leica glass now a days. It is a bit of a rip that the lens hood has to be bought separately, but it is the first interchangeable Leica hood I have where you can screw it on backwards for space saving and it looks kind of cool with the push-on aluminum lens cap.

I was leaning towards the Summicron, but the size of that lens makes it beastly like my 75 Summilux. I love the draw of that lens but due to the size I rarely take it out and work with it on the street, but more in a studio settings.

The size of the Summarit is something that you can easily find room for in any camera bag. I've read review after review praising the Elmarit-M now discontinued over this one, but can find no images out there that really blew me away enough to wait for one that is in excellent condition and coded. Plus the price of a coded used Elmarit is going for close to the price of this one new.

Larry, if you are referring to the vignette, I added it. ;)

With the Lens Profile in LR4 the image is clean corner to corner.

Thanks Stu, Paul and docHenry as well.
