LichMD Posted March 14, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A darker view of the ESB as seen from my office window on Valentine's 2007 evening. A bit blurry as the windows were sealed shut for the winter. Cheers
Advertisement Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Hi LichMD, Take a look here Empire State Building from my office. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ECliffordSmith Posted March 14, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Jeff, Â What a view! Do you manage to get much work done with such a distraction? Â I like the contrast of the red against the very dark winter night sky.
LichMD Posted March 14, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks Ed, Its a challenge but we actually manage to get a fair bit of work done, sometimes we even forget she's there. It's interesting to see how she changes during different parts of the year.
stuny Posted March 14, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Jeff - Â On my work monitor I couldn't appreciate it. At my better one, at home, this is lovely. For non-New Yorkers, the management company for the Empire State Building changes the nightly lighting in honor of holidays and events.
LichMD Posted March 14, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks Stuart I posted this in a smaller format last night and hated it, resized and replaced and it seemed better. On my screen the winter night is like a halo. I have a better shot that has some motion burring that I wish had come out. A missed opportunity. You only get this vermillion red once a year from the ESB folks. Sent you a message, let me know when you have time next week, jj
LichMD Posted March 14, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Two other views of the ESB one from Madison Square Park (28/2.0 1/20 ISO 640) the other through the trees in front of the little church on 29th (28/2.0 1/45 ISO 160) both with the M8
andit Posted March 15, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted March 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Jeff, Â Do you want to trade offices? I also doubt that I would get any work done with a view like that... I look out of my office and just see these really uninteresting trees. Thank you for sharing this post with us - do you have any images from around Christmas Time? Â Andreas
LichMD Posted March 15, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted March 15, 2007 No, didn't get the M8 until Feb 13th, so no recent ESB photos. I'll look through my 20D archive and see if I have anything. If not, I'll take care of it later this year.
