Advertisement Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Whist not exactly new.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 6, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2012 Welcome back, Pete Blame it on Leica for expanding their catalog You'll find the forum much the same, despite the streamlining Andreas introduced recently.
earleygallery Posted September 6, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 6, 2012 Hi Pete, where have you been? I'm undecided about the latest reshuffle. Some of it has been in response to user demand (R forum, Street Photo forum) and also no doubt in preparation for whatever new digicam/s Leica announce at Photokina. Try the bar, it's still the same, not been changed into a trendy gastropub yet!
stunsworth Posted September 6, 2012 Share #4 Posted September 6, 2012 I have, due to circumstances beyond my control, not been able to post for some little while Sorry to hear about that Pete. Perhaps if you employ a better lawyer (I believe they're known in the 'trade' as briefs) things may work out better for you next time. Anyhow, welcome back! elansprint72 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted September 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bastards; I hate you all. As you can see from the thread title, my spelling has not improved; Chester Jones, my English master woz right on that score, all those years ago. wrt the forum layout and software... etc. I never really saw why it had to change from the really clear and simple set-up when this place was a Leica-owned unit. It seems to have just got more complex to suit the most noisy folks. Hey, what do I know? One thing which puzzles me slightly (as a virtual new member) is that I cannot easily see any photographs here, which may be a somewhat negative aspect of a photo-forum. Of course, given my almost total lack of knowledge of how my new computer functions- it might just be my fault. I'll try to pop in more frequently, should I be spared. Cheers, Pete. farnz Posted September 6, 2012 Share #9 Posted September 6, 2012 Oh no you found us! I thought the forum had hidden its identity well enough to deter will-o-the-wisp motor sports photogs extraordinaire. Welcome back, Other Pete. (Didn't they mention at the Witness Protection Programme that you should choose a new name?) Other Other Pete.
elansprint72 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted September 6, 2012 Thanks but as a regular here you are clearly not seeing what I (as a "newbie") am seeing. In order to see any image I have to click on a piece of red text to see a photo, then click on the back button to move on. Didn't used to be like that. Software, eh? earleygallery Posted September 6, 2012 Share #11 Posted September 6, 2012 You're lucky! On my home pc/laptop I get a blue square. To see the pic I have to open it as a new screen, which then requires me to log in again. I don't bother and look at photos on the iPhone instead. I only have the problem with this website. elansprint72 Posted September 12, 2012 Author Share #15 Posted September 12, 2012 I do agree that the new layout is bollocks... fun factor is much lower and the logic of the structure is not easy to follow.... good to see you here again... andy It's not just me then? I certainly will not be altering my browser or Control Panel settings to accommodate the oddities of a single website; everything else works. Thanks for the welcome back, folks.
