Advertisement Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Hi drstefanlenz, Take a look here Used Summilix 35 asph.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ramosa Posted September 3, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2012 i followed the prices closely in the united states (on ebay, here, and RFF) about a year ago before i ended up getting one. at that time, mint lux 35 asph lenses seemed to be going consistently for more than $4,000 ... it's a great lens. some would prefer the new FLE version, but not me. RobertJRB Posted September 3, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 3, 2012 hello, how much can a 1,4/35 asph. lens from 1996 cost (374...) which is in excellent used condition, checked by Solms and attested to be at 100%? i am amazed to see that on e.bay they want like 3700 euros!! ain´t that crazy:confused:? grettings s.l. I have seen that version, newer lens from 2001 and I think even coded, for much less. Think its was 2700 euro or 2900 euro total. And that was at from a big store. So its a crazy price and looks like someone still thinks last years madness still occurs. But have seen many strange things, shop (no official leica dealer) selling new FLE's for 4300 euro or 4600 euro. Had like 10 or 15 and sold them all...... And my official dealer had no change of getting one. i followed the prices closely in the united states (on ebay, here, and RFF) about a year ago before i ended up getting one. at that time, mint lux 35 asph lenses seemed to be going consistently for more than $4,000 ... it's a great lens. some would prefer the new FLE version, but not me. But 4000 dollar is like 3100 euro. So this one is 4600 or 4700 dollar...
drstefanlenz Posted September 4, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted September 4, 2012 now there is one from the slowakia, same year, for 4700:D. used!! Euro!
Lightwrangler Posted September 4, 2012 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2012 According to a big european seller of used Leica equipment the 35 Lux ASPH is between 2650.- and 3300.- Euro depending on age, condition and sellers expectations. All of them are checked and come with guarantee. The 1996 lens you are looking for might be more on the 2650.- side of that list. Mike
IWC Doppel Posted September 4, 2012 Share #6 Posted September 4, 2012 I did the research before buying my lens earlier this year when I moved on from a 35 Summicron, in sterling they are between £2,500 and £2,850 depending on condition age and whether they are coded or not. I have seen scruffy early ones go for less and one or two on e-bay go for more.
drstefanlenz Posted September 4, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted September 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) if the lens was at solms just for checking, i suppose that does not mean it has a guarantee then. nevertheless the condition is 100% with that certificate, even without guarantee it should be worth 2700 to 3000 from what i understand here
drstefanlenz Posted September 4, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted September 4, 2012 i was at my local dealer today, they have a new 1,4/35 asph. on stock. but they told me that chinese are buying leica products like crazy, paying at leat 20% more for even new lenses and that therefore leica ships many products to china while here in europe accepting a shortage. he says that in the east you can sell used lenses very well and some are even coming here via airplane just for that purpose, sometimes bringing along lots of cash. according to them the high price hype ain't over yet
IWC Doppel Posted September 4, 2012 Share #9 Posted September 4, 2012 Don't forget the supply demand relationship. Leica are not reintroducing old lenses and they are not going out of fashion or seeing reduced demand, possibly the reverse ?
drstefanlenz Posted September 4, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted September 4, 2012 yeah, reverse is the right word here. china makes cheap stuff, a few get rich at the expense of many and then the few have so much money they buy the best, here leica and no "made in china". kind a reverse pervert(ed)
IWC Doppel Posted September 4, 2012 Share #11 Posted September 4, 2012 a few get rich at the expense of many and then the few have so much money they buy the best, (ed) Nothing new here, the only difference I see is they have a larger GDP and are more brand conscious than most. I don't see secondhand or new Leica prices softening at all in Asia
akiralx Posted September 5, 2012 Share #12 Posted September 5, 2012 he says that in the east you can sell used lenses very well and some are even coming here via airplane just for that purpose, sometimes bringing along lots of cash. I would concur - here in Melbourne I have sold an M7 and 35 Summicron v4 to two young Chinese 'students' who paid good prices in cash without batting an eyelid. When selling the M7 we ended up talking about various lenses and I showed him my WATE, a couple of Summarits, and black paint 50 Summicron pre-ASPH. He agreed they were nice and then asked how much I wanted for the lot...
bruniroquai Posted September 5, 2012 Share #13 Posted September 5, 2012 But is not Leica a chinese brand and for the Chinese people? Bruno Gracia
philipus Posted September 5, 2012 Share #14 Posted September 5, 2012 According to a big european seller of used Leica equipment the 35 Lux ASPH is between 2650.- and 3300.- Euro I think this is pretty much the current state of things as regards the pre-FLE. The FLE version is usually several 100s more (though with luck can be had for what a pre-FLE in excellent condition costs).
imperfiction Posted September 7, 2012 Share #15 Posted September 7, 2012 I bought one about 3 months ago in used condition but excellent overall, with coding, for 2,500 euros on ebay (from a French private seller). It has been almost constantly glued to my M8 (and after it came back from service, my M9). I loved the Nokton 35 1.2 while I had it (before dropping it and selling it as defective) but the 35 ASPH is even more satisfactory because of the size and the focusing tab. Bill W Posted September 11, 2012 Share #16 Posted September 11, 2012 I wanted the FLE version so when I was finally able to pick one up , I had to sell the 35 lux I had purchased in 2007 and had it coded for free. I paid $2300 at the time and it was mint. I sold it for $3500. The buyer was from China. While it was listed I had several inquiries from China.
