stump4545 Posted August 28, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted August 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) i recently had my 21mm lens serviced by leica nj and i thought i had a hairline scratch on the rear element which was small and it wouldn't come out with lens cleaning solution. Â i thought i had scratched the rear element possibly from changing lens. Â came back from leica nj prefect no scratch or anything. perfect. Â was it a scratch? Â is there some sort of protective glass over the rear element that they changed? i dont think so. Â thanks

enenrf Posted August 28, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted August 28, 2012 I guess it was not a scratch, otherwise they had to replace the rear element with a new one to fix it.
stump4545 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted August 28, 2012 weird though. Â whatever it was it would not come off with liquid solution and microfiber cloth. Â is it possible to scratch a rear element just by changing lens?
250swb Posted August 28, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted August 28, 2012 A LensPen is good for removing stubborn marks (but it won't remove real scratches). Â Steve
