Keith (M) Posted September 1, 2012 Share #45  Posted September 1, 2012 Interesting to see the level of love for the 50mm Sonnar  Regards,  Bill  Mine rarely leaves my M7. Second favourite Zeiss is the Biogon 21mm f2.8.
gwg Posted September 1, 2012 Share #46  Posted September 1, 2012 Voigtländer 28 1.9 LTM (on M3, M8 and M9) closely followed by the Voigtländer 50 1.5 LTM.  Love the way the 28mm renders both in colour and b&w (both M8):    ---- My current project: brusselspeople.tumblr.com  Shooting film and digital with various (mostly Leica) rangefinders
richfx Posted September 1, 2012 Share #47 Â Posted September 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Zeiss Biogon 35mm 2.8. Astonishing lens. In good light and for landscape shots, I believe it outperforms my Summilux 35mm FLE.

alfredian Posted September 2, 2012 Share #50 Â Posted September 2, 2012 Formerly, the 50mm f2 ZM Planar. "Scary sharp" was one description I've read, also has its own color rendition that's great with Kodak Ektar 100 or Velvia 50. Recently, the 50mm f1.5 Nikkor Olypic 2000, in an Amedeo adaptor. The race is on - both are tack-sharp, so it's getting down to color rendition. alfredian
kokoshawnuff Posted September 3, 2012 Share #51  Posted September 3, 2012 Easiest question ever posed (for me that is), the Biogon C 21mm F:4.5. regards, ron  +1. I don't have a digital M so can't comment on the color cast issues and the resulting pp to fix them, but on film this lens is as good as any of my modern Leica's
rramesh Posted September 3, 2012 Share #52  Posted September 3, 2012 On a recent trip to St Petersburg, I found that the 21 CV was the second most used lens after the 50 Summilux. The 35 was not wide enough for me. Some examples follow. Welcome, dear visitor! sfage Posted September 3, 2012 Share #54  Posted September 3, 2012 On an M...? Regards,  Bill   Nope. But an M is not the be-all-and-end-all of everything. The Nikon f4 80-200 is an absolutely stunning landscape lens for mountain tops (for example). It also has a fabulous 3 dimensionality about it.  I know this image is too small for this but you'll have to take my word for it.
