MP in depth review

I'm sorry e1k3, I'm new here and don't know the etiquette of this board yet. I'm not even sure if I will become a permanent member, as I haven't decided yet if will buy a Leica (I'm researching the MP and hence bumped into that link).

I just thought it was funny (because the guy is either brilliant or mental), and it seems I was not the only one. Anyway, I got the message and will remain mostly a lurker.

Hello Axot,

Welcome to the Forum.

There are no requirements of Leitz/Leica ownership to participate on this Forum.

As a matter of fact there are peopple who write here who think more highly of & use other brands.

The general, loosely structured, requirement is that Brand name discussions include or use Leitz/Leica products if they pertain to cameras or/& lenses. An acceptable example might be a Leitz lens on an Alpa camera. Other things such as: Printers, lightmeters, etc are nor brand specific.

General photographic questions - ie: How do you meter & adjust the lens/shutter speed when photographing high in the mountains instead of in your back yard in the forest @ an alltitude of 276 meters? - are also quite acceptable & equally encouraged.

Participating instead of just lurking can sometimes be a good way to learn. Especially w/ such a diverse, intelligent group of people from all over the Planet many of whom generously share their knowledge. Don't forget Barnack's Bar.

Best Regards,

Michael

Unnecessary link and unnecessary thread.

But it's hugely entertaining - at least I got a really good laugh out of it.

IMHO the only thing that the OP might at all be criticised for is putting it here rather than in the Bar. And for a relative newcomer to the Forum that very minor faux pas (if indeed it really is such) is surely entirely forgiveable.

Axot, do stick aroud and contribute - you are very welcome.

Wow, I just watched that marvellous video. It was so motivating! So much so that as a M9 and MP owner, I am now going to resign from my highly-paid City job and set up a photography business. Can't wait to see the commissions and $'s rolling in...
