gotium Posted July 28, 2017 Share #45 Posted July 28, 2017 Resurrecting. I have a new demo M7, and the camera allowed me to expose the last frame multiple times, with no tension when advancing. On opening the body, I found that the collecting spool did not rotate when advancing, while a little round silver thing next to the collecting spool, flush with the bottom of the camera, did spin. With passing a test roll through, the collecting spool is rotating when advancing the film. Anyone have advice?
Martin B Posted July 29, 2017 Share #46 Posted July 29, 2017 M3's seem to be well known for this kind of issues - my recently purchased M3 had suddenly a stuck shutter just after I wanted to add a film in it. CLA was overdue as final solution. Don't send to Leica in NJ......they still didn't respond even to my initial email inquiring if they still would do this with M3 cameras. Had it done by a good alternative contact address.
