The new Panasonic version was announced today with a sweet looking summilux lens - well technically a f1.4 to 2.3 zoom (24-90 equivalent) - and a few other bells and whistles. Now the wait til Photokina? of can our wizards of Solms (or whoever they contract it out to) make the minor changes to the microcode to announce it sooner? dorman Posted July 24, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 24, 2012 I believe the history of the numbering goes:- Leica D-Lux: No panasonic equivalent (AFAIK) Leica D-Lux 2: Equivalent Panasonic LX Leica D-Lux 3: Equivalent Panasonic LX2 Leica D-Lux 4: Equivalent Panasonic LX3 Leica D-Lux 5: Equivalent Panasonic LX5 Based on no evidence whatsoever I assumed that Panasonic had skipped 4 to get in line with the Leica numbering.
