jaapv Posted July 17, 2012 Share #21 Posted July 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) A close friend of mine is a "Leica Ambassador". After he won a bunch of awards for various stories, Leica in our country invited him to become a leica ambassador. He gets a good discount on equipment and in turn he has to write a blog post for them every once in a while about his (positive) experiences with the equipment. Interesting. Not even beta testers get a discount.

swamiji Posted July 17, 2012 Share #23 Posted July 17, 2012 No real meaning, as Leica never supported it. Just a bit of fun. Jaap's definition is as close as it gets.
gyoung Posted July 17, 2012 Share #24 Posted July 17, 2012 Well, it does indicate that the person in question is regarded by Leica as a knowledgable customer.I won’t use it. Real ambassadors get paid. And a pretty secretary. And a tax-free car......:D ....and free product samples? Gerry

vdb Posted July 18, 2012 Share #26 Posted July 18, 2012 To all my fellow ambassadors: I'm thinking we should send a big collective thank you to Leica for allowing us to keep the M10s and S3s we've been testing. Maybe Andy you can draft the letter and we can all sign it? Least we can do.... Hehehe:))((

And all for 2k euros too :-) G.

Messsucherkamera Posted July 20, 2012 Share #31 Posted July 20, 2012 No real meaning, as Leica never supported it. Just a bit of fun. Jaap's definition is as close as it gets. Given the above - by the power vested in me by yours truly, I hereby designate each and every one of the august 72,179 registered L Camera Forum members as official Leica Ambassadors with all honors and privileges concurrent with said office. Rolo Posted July 21, 2012 Share #34 Posted July 21, 2012 Seriously, I would like to be a Leica Ambassador. We've had an Ambassadorial vote and I'm sorry to say, it's bad news. No smoke out of this chimney.
Phil U Posted July 23, 2012 Share #35 Posted July 23, 2012 Dave, don't feel bad about it - they turned me down too. Though it's just as well they did because I don't want to belong to any club that accepts people like me as a member.
